Phil Gartrell

Senior Planner

Phil graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2015. He currently holds a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Sociology, and a Graduate Diploma of Environmental Planning.

Phil previously undertook a three-month professional placement at the Tasmania Parks & Wildlife Service.  During this time he was involved in a comprehensive review of several National Park Management Plans in order to prepare the foundations of a new management plan for one of Tasmania’s key national parks.

Since joining Ireneinc Phil has worked on the preparation of many significant planning applications and is experienced in the statutory application of planning schemes across Tasmania and interstate.

Working on variety of projects, Phil is experienced in the day to-day project management of complex planning applications involving a range of consultants and experts across a wide range of multidisciplinary fields.

As well as preparing and assessing complex planning applications, Phil also has experience in preparing evidence to support planning appeals and contributing directly to associated tribunal hearing matters, such as mediation proceedings.
