Michela Fortini

Graduate Planner

Michela completed a Bachelor of International Relations (Global Sustainable Development) as a Deans Scholar student. During her studies, Michela undertook a student exchange to the Université François-Rabelais in Tours, France. Michela is multilingual and is competent in French and Italian.

Michela previously worked as a project manager for Parley for the Oceans, incorporating sustainability initiatives on remote islands located in far-north Queensland.

Michela has recently completed her Masters in Planning at the University of Tasmania. Upon the completion of her Masters, Michela was awarded the Mike Shield Award 2021 for best academic performance in the State. During her time at Ireneinc, Michela has further developed skills in both statutory and strategic fields of planning.

Michela is passionate about the interaction between the natural and built environment and believes that planning is a way of creating positive outcomes for both. Michela is a member of the Planning Institute of Australia and active committee member of the Tasmanian Young Planners.
